On Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th June, we saw over 50 of our College students perform in the two Mini Music Recitals held at Encompass Church. The students who were involved in the evenings’ concerts are predominantly part of the individual music programs that are run at the College, with some additional students from the ensemble program. The Mini Music Recitals offer students an opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed during the semester and to practice performing for a live audience in a professional environment. This year the decision was made to spread the performances across two nights, which enabled more students of all skill levels to take part while also reducing the timeframe of each concert.
All the students performed with enthusiasm and skill and a number of people commented on how nice it was to see all levels and ages of performers taking part. We have over 80 students participating in individual music tuition weekly at the College and many more involved in the ensembles that we run each week. It is wonderful that we can provide opportunities for these students to shine and be encouraged in their musical endeavors.
I would like to congratulate our students on presenting two outstanding concerts and to thank our parents and staff for getting behind these events. I encourage everyone in the community to consider coming along to future recitals to show support for our students, build the community and enjoy the gift of music!
