Official Opening of the Middle School Building

It was with great excitement that Northside Christian College celebrated the opening of the Middle School building on Friday 1 st September 2023. The building was officially opened by the Hon. Colin Brooks MP, State Member for Bundoora, who represented the Victorian Government.

Northside Christian College is grateful for the support of the Victorian Government and the capital grant of $2 million administered through the Victorian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority to support approximately $4 million of construction works at Northside Christian College.

Our new building consists of eight classrooms, break-out rooms, recording studios, staff offices, and foyer areas to support a diverse range of learning activities. Construction also included landscaping works, outdoor seating, and a new playground.

The Middle School classrooms consist of flexible furniture arrangements to support a diverse range of learning activities. This learning environment aims to be flexible and will support collaborative learning, problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and the development of communication skills.

College Principal, Mr Michael Bond, thanked several people for their significant contributions to the construction project, including Mr Ian Field (Architect, Life Design Architecture), Mr Tian Leow (Project Manager, PreBuilt), Pastor Raff Marcucci (Committee of Management chairperson), Mr Damian Higgins (former College Principal), Mr Leigh Adcock (College Business Manager), and Mr Stephen Nelson (College Property Manager).

The College also acknowledged the prayers and support of Encompass Church and Northside Ministry Resources and extended thanks to the former Senior Pastors, Pastor John and Pastor Lois Spinella for their support throughout this project. During the opening ceremony, Mr Bond also thanked the new Senior Pastors of Encompass Church, Pastor Jason and Pastor Alissa Newcastle, for their prayers and encouragement. The Northside Christian College community is most grateful for our relationship with Encompass Church and the opportunity to partner together to provide Christian education for students and families in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne.

The Middle School Captains at Northside Christian College played a significant role in the opening of the new building, including cutting the ribbon with Hon. Colin Brooks MP, to officially open the new building.

Pastor Raff Marcucci also shared a prayer of dedication during the ceremony. We give thanks to God for always providing for our needs. We continue to pray that His will is done as our school continues to grow.
