Scholarships at Northside Christian College

Northside Christian College offers the following scholarship opportunities to students entering Year 7 and Year 10 in 2023, 2024, and 2025:

Academic Scholarships
General Excellence Scholarships
Christian Leadership Scholarships (Year 10 entry only)

Each scholarship gives a discount of up to 70% off the tuition fees. The final percentage awarded is at the discretion of the Principal. Students may apply for one that one scholarship, but can only hold or be awarded one scholarship at any one time.

Scholarships awarded to students entering Year 7 will be for a duration of six (6) years.

Scholarships awarded to students entering Year 10 will be for a duration of three (3) years.

Applications for all three scholarships will close on Friday 25th March 2022.

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are open to current and prospective students entering Year 7 or 10 in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Academic Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

High academic achievement measured by the scholarship exam;
Evidence of previous academic results, including school reports, awards, and references; and an
Interview with the Principal and Director of Learning.

All students applying for an Academic Scholarship must:

Submit a completed application, including provide supporting documents and the application fee, by the closing date, Friday 25th March 2022;
Sit the scholarship examination on Saturday 30th April 2022; and
Attend an interview with the Principal and Director of Learning if invited to.

General Excellence Scholarships

General Excellence Scholarships are open to current and prospective students entering Year 7 or 10 in 2023, 2024, and 2025. General Excellence Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

Displays special talents or interests in a broad range of areas, including but not limited to, the physical environment, sports, music, or art; and an
Interview with the Principal and Director of Learning.

All students applying for a General Excellence Scholarship must:

Submit a completed application, including provide supporting documents and the application fee, by the closing date, Friday 25th March 2022;
Attach at least one written reference from the student’s school, mentor, community organisation or club in support of the student’s suitability to be awarded a scholarship; and
Attend an interview with the Principal and Director of Learning if invited to.

Christian Leadership Scholarships

Christian Leadership Scholarships are open to current and prospective students entering Year 10 in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Christian Leadership Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria:

Commitment to the Christian faith
Regular and active involvement in a local church;
Commitment to personal integrity and Christian character; and an
Interview with the Principal and Director of Learning.

All students applying for the Christian Leadership Scholarship must:

Submit a completed Christian Leadership Scholarship application, including all required supporting documents outlined in the application and the application fee, by the closing date, Friday 25th March 2022.
Attach a letter of recommendation from their Church pastor or minister; and
Attend an interview with the Principal and Director of Learning if invited to.

Eligibility

Students who are Australian citizens, permanent residents, or on funded temporary VISAs are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Both current and prospective students entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply.

Late applications will not be eligible for consideration.

Scholarship Interviews

The Principal will consider all applications received and invite short-listed applicants for an interview. These interviews will take place in June 2022.

Please note that an invitation to an interview should not be taken to mean the applicant has been offered a scholarship.
